TV Series Welcomed by MSP
MSP for North Tayside, John Swinney, has welcomed the new TV series Conquer the Castle, which began on Thursday 3rd January on STV, which showcases many parts of Highland Perthshire.
Conquer the Castle is a reality series which takes town dwellers to rural areas of Scotland for a taste of many aspects of rural life in modern Scotland. Much of the show’s 12 episodes will be based at Atholl Estates, located in the heart of Highland Perthshire in Mr Swinney's North Tayside constituency. |

Mr Swinney said: "As the series shows, there are a huge range of activities on offer across Perthshire and it shows that rural areas in Scotland contribute immensely to the local and national economies. Highland Perthshire is famed for its tremendous scenery and breadth of activities, and is a favourite location for tourists from Scotland and further afield. I would urge anyone who hasn't paid a visit to this beautiful area yet to make a space for it in their 2008 diary.”
