Murch Family: Message of Thanks

We would like to use Comment to acknowledge the support we have received from the local community following the death of our son, Andrew, in March of this year.

As a family we have been proud and humbled by the overwhelming love and support shown to us by members of a strong, caring community, one which our family has been fortunate enough to be part of for over 20 years. This support has taken many forms and we appreciate them all.

We would particularly like to thank Reverend Anne Brennan, members of Aberfeldy Church of Scotland, the staff and pupils of Breadalbane Academy and the staff of Gaulds Undertakers, whose practical help we came to rely on so heavily.

We would also like to thank the many young people, particularly Andrew’s school friends, who have written, visited, laughed and wept with us. It has been such a lesson to us to experience these young people supporting us, and each other, in a very special way.

Finally we would like to thank all those who contributed to the collection in Andrew’s name. The incredible sum of £2,000 was donated to Alive and Kicking UK, for work in Kenya, and Sports Outreach Bolivia, a Christian organisation in South America. Both charities use football, a particular passion of Andrew’s, to work within the poorest communities. Thank you!

Gordon, Hazel, Peter and Iain Murch
